Safe Use of Ladders Course

Introduction:
A third of all reported falls-from height incidents involve ladders and stepladders, on average this accounts for 14 deaths and 1200 major injuries in the workplace each year. Many of these injuries are caused by inappropriate and incorrect use of the equipment (source HSE).

Aims:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Identify hazards in working at height and off ladders
  • Identify securing methods
  • Understand where and when to use types of ladders
  • Inspect ladders and step ladders
